Rock Bridge golf in contention after first round of state championships

The Rock Bridge High School boys golf team is in fourth place after the first round of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Boys Golf Championship on Monday at the Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield.

The Bruins scored 316 and are only eight strokes behind the leader, Marquette High.

Rock Bridge sophomore Matt Echelmeier scored 72,  and sophomore Jack Knoesel scored 73. 

The championship continues Tuesday.
