COLUMBIA — A 47-year-old man charged with a 1999 residence hall rape at MU has pleaded guilty.

KMIZ-TV reports that Marvin Leslie Jones of Columbia pleaded guilty Monday in Boone County Circuit Court to two counts of forcible sodomy and one count of forcible rape.

Jones was arrested by MU Police in November in connection with the Oct. 16, 1999, attack at Gillett Hall.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol's crime lab identified a DNA sample from Jones that matched a sample found on the victim 13 years earlier. Jones was required by law to provide a genetic sample after a 2010 sexual misconduct conviction.

Sentencing is scheduled for early July. Prosecutors want Jones to serve 30 years for the forcible sodomy and another 30 years for forcible rape.
