Sarah Darr, a 2013 graduate of Columbia FFA, has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship by Joe Machens Ford Lincoln and Ford Motor Company. Joe Machens Dealerships owner and president Gary Drewing made the official presentation. Darr plans to study Forest Management at Texas A&M University.

“It’s a real pleasure to be a part of this program” says Drewing. “We’re happy to be able to assist such a sharp and talented young lady. Sarah, clearly, has a very bright future ahead of her and we wish her all the best."

The Built Ford Tough – FFA Scholarship Program is designed to recognize FFA members’ accomplishments while encouraging their future academic achievements.  The scholarship is one of 530 awarded by Ford and Ford dealers.

The program is part of Ford’s overall commitment to the National FFA Foundation. The company has supported FFA since the first F-Series truck was introduced in 1948. To date, Ford has awarded $7,645,000 in scholarships throughout the country.
