From 2003 to 2013, Columbia Public Schools experienced a decade of continuous enrollment growth, and the district grew from 16,076 students to 17,722 students. To keep up with this growth, the district has added Battle High School.

The graphic below shows the schools that feed into the three main high schools. The addition of Battle High School led to a change at the middle and junior high school level. Students will attend intermediate schools for sixth through eighth grades and attend high school for ninth through 12th grades.
