The sun rises behind Battle High School.
COLUMBIA — The funding was secured, plans were made, ground was broken and now the doors will open. The addition of a new high school in Columbia has been a long process, but the opening of Battle High School is here.
The school opened for summer classes in June, and now ninth-, 10th- and 11th-graders will enter the school this month for the first school year.
The Missourian took an in-depth look at the new high school and heard from students, teachers and administrators about their hopes for the school.
Missourian digital members can access the stories linked below and also download a pdf edition of the section's content. Also available to anyone is a $1.99 interactive iBook to read on your iPad. Or if you are interested in purchasing a printed book with all of the content, call the Missourian at 882-5700.
