Columbia man sentenced to 25 years for sexual exploitation of child

Wednesday, May 22, 2013 | 6:19 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA —A Columbia man was sentenced to 25 years in prison Wednesday on child pornography charges, the result of a year-long investigation.

Patrick Drury, 29, will concurrently serve 25 yearsfor sexual exploitation of a child and 10 years for possession of child pornography in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

The charges come from an investigation that led to investigators finding more than 500 pornographic images involving children, infants and toddlers, including pictures and videos of a 2-year-old child taken at Drury’s residence.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department started investigating the case when they received information that Drury had child pornography in his possession in late May 2012. Drury was arrested on June 13 on an unrelated robbery charge, and was later charged by the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney for possession of child pornography.  He has been held in jail since his arrest.

Drury pled guilty to his charges on March 26, and began serving his sentence Wednesday.
