Eleanore L. Geel, 93, worked for Columbia Public Schools for 31 years

Eleanore L. Geel died the morning of May 30, 2013. She was 93.

She was born Aug. 3, 1919, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Harry and Harriett (Brink) Lynch.

She married Willis B. Geel on Jan. 10, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio.

Mrs. Geel worked for the Columbia Public School District for 31 years as secretary to the director of the art, music and food service departments.

Mrs. Geel was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church since 1952.She was also a member of groups such as the Order of the Eastern Star, Mother’s Forum and the Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Geel is survived by her two sons, Kenneth Geel and his wife, Martha, of Columbia and Richard Geel and his wife, Linda, of Burke, Va. six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Bill, and daughter, Janet, died earlier.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. Services will follow at 2 p.m. with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
