COLUMBIA — Bud Guyer died on May 31, 2013 in Columbia, Missouri. He was born November 23, 1923 to Roy and Bessie Guyer of Purdin, Missouri, and was a successful business owner and decorated veteran. Raised on a Missouri farm during the great depression he knew the value of hard work. He fought in WWII Battle of the Bulge against the German Army. After the service, he graduated from the University of Missouri with a Masters in Engineering. Following the university graduation he was employed by the USGS in Rolla, Missouri. He returned to Columbia Missouri where he was married and ran his business, Wolcott Water Systems, designing industrial water treating equipment. Everyone who knew him respected him for his honesty and caring ways.
Bud’s family was most important in his life and he treasured spending time with them. He is survived by his loving wife Emily Guyer and four children, Jane Mahieu, Anne Orazio, Joy Jones and John Guyer. His seven grandchildren Hayden Mahieu, Anthony and Nicholas Orazio, Hailey Jones and Jessica, Alex and Jacob Guyer gave him years of fun and love.
