COLUMBIA — Four teenagers were arrested Monday night and turned over to juvenile authorities on suspicion of arson, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

The arrest stems from a fire two weeks ago at an abandoned house on Leora Lane near Sharidan Boulevard north of Columbia.

The Sheriff’s Department and Boone County Fire Protection District investigated after it was concluded that the May 23 fire was intentionally set, according to the release.

Investigators received a tip that led to the arrests of two 16-year-old girls and two boys, ages 15 and 16.

The structure was destroyed, and damage was estimated at $30,000.
