Friends of the Centralia Battlefield plan fundraiser

CENTRALIA — The Friends of the Centralia Battlefield will host the second annual Beer, Band and Barbeque fundraiser for the 150th Commemoration of the Battle of Centralia on June 15 at the battlefield.

The fundraiser will feature barbecue chef Clint Eastin as well as entertainment from several musical artists including Billy McDow, The Dirt Road Junkies, and the Busted String Band, according to a news release.

The gates will open at 5 p.m. and the music will start at 8 p.m. The battlefield is located three miles southeast of Centralia, on Rangeline Road.

The cost per ticket, which includes food, is $30 at the gate or a table that seats 10 is $250.

The battlefield is a site where during the Civil War, 107 soldiers were killed in a three-minute battle.
