R. Leroy Owen, Feb. 16, 1923 — June 7, 2013

R. Leroy Owen, age 90 of Hallsville, MO passed away at his home the morning of June 7th, 2013. Mr. Owen was the son of Grover and Grace (Denham) Owen and was born February 16, 1923 in Columbia, Missouri.

Mr. Owen worked for the University of Missouri as a painter and proudly served in the Army for several years. He was an ordained minister and was involved in the prison ministry for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Church of God Holiness in Hallsville, Missouri.

Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Hattie Owen of Hallsville; five children, Richard Leroy, Jr. (Barbara) of Columbia, MO, Olga Owen of Columbia, MO, Dennis (Cheryl) Owen of Texas, Ola Owen of Hallsville, MO, and Quita (David) Hubble of Mexico, MO; brother, Joseph Owen of California; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Grace; three brothers, Ralph, Stanley, and Claude Owen; and one granddaughter, Tonya.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Monday, June 10, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home and services at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
