Samuel A. Kloeppel worked as a camp counselor, played lacrosse

COLUMBIA — Samuel A. Kloeppel, of Columbia, died Thursday, June 6, 2013. He was 18.

Mr. Kloeppel was born June 8, 1994, in Kansas City. He is the son of Terry and Denise Kloeppel. He graduated from Rock Bridge High School in 2012. While in high school, he was a player on the Rock Bridge lacrosse team and a member of the stage crew for Rock Bridge plays.

Mr. Kloeppel just finished his freshman year at MU. He had been junior counselor at YMCA-Camp Mudd for several summers and was an Mizzou sports fan and Cardinals fan. He worked at Missouri Book Service, MFA, Inc., Tree Frog Landscaping, Shryock’s Corn Maze and was a member of the MU Event Staff. He was a member of Central Christian Church in Fulton.

Mr. Kloeppel is survived by his parents, Terry and Denise Kloeppel of Columbia; his grandparents, Mike and Barbara Lee of Fulton and Betty Kloeppel and Ted Houser of Columbus, Kan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

His grandfather C.F. Kloeppel died earlier.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.Monday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St. Services will be at 10 a.m.Tuesday at Broadway Christian Church, 2601 W. Broadway. Burial will be in Central Christian Church Cemetery in Fulton.
