Monday, June 10, 2013 | 3:27 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — A 32-year-old Boonville man was charged with second-degree robbery after attempting to steal disc golf discs from a player in Albert-Oakland Park, according to a Columbia Police Department spokeswoman.

Grant Thomas Wojahn was charged with second-degree robbery, a class B felony.

Columbia Police Department spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, the victim set down his bag to look for a missing golf disc. While the victim was looking for the disc, the suspect took three other discs from the victim's bag. When the victim confronted the suspect, he denied taking the discs.

When the victim called the police, the suspect grabbed him by the shirt, Stroer said. Wojahn was then taken into custody, Stroer said. The discs have an estimated value of $25 each, according to the probable cause statement.

Wojahn remains in the Boone County Jail on $25,000 bond.
