Rosemary Chandler, 67, worked 50 years for Boone Hospital

COLUMBIA — Rosemary T. Chandler of Columbia died Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home. She was 67.

She was born Aug. 4, 1945, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Gerald and Mary Louise (Brady) Mayes.

She married Melvin Chandler on May 8, 1965, in Columbia.

Mrs. Chandler worked for 50 years at Boone Hospital Center. During those years she drove an ambulance, served as a paramedic, an E.M.T. and at her retirement was a senior buyer for the hospital. She loved to travel, raised Doberman Pinscher dogs, raised and showed Quarter and Paint Horses and sponsored the Junior Saddle Club for children.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin; a god-daughter, Paulette Wetter and her husband, Andrew; two sisters, Geraldine Wright of Moberly and JoAnne Mayes of Columbia; one nephew, Jeffrey Chandler, and his wife, Tammie, of Millersburg; and two god-grandsons, Jakob and Max Wetter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 St. Charles Road. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
