No one injured in armed robbery at West Ash Street store

COLUMIBIA — No one was injured Tuesday morning when a man armed with a handgun robbed a Phillips 66 store at 2200 W. Ash St.

Officers were notified at about 5 a.m. that a man entered the store with a gun and demanded money from the clerk, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The man was described as being 5-foot-9-inches tall and skinny, wearing a black jacket with the hood up, jeans and a bandana over his face. He took money from the clerk and left the store.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit helped search for the suspect, but they found nothing. The investigation is ongoing, the release said.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477 to remain anonymous.
