Executive director of The Intersection sustains serious injuries in vehicle collision

COLUMBIA — Dana Battison, founder and executive director of The Intersection, sustained serious injuries in a vehicle collision Friday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Battison was traveling north on North Route A about 6 a.m. when her vehicle crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by David Sullivan head-on. Sullivan was wearing his seat belt and Battison was not, according to the release. 

Both Sullivan and Battison were transported to University Hospital. Sullivan sustained minor injuries, according to the release. 

Battison's vehicle was totaled and Sullivan's had extensive damage, according to the release. 

The Intersection is a program that serves underprivileged youths in Columbia through educational programs and public events. Battison founded the program in 2002, according to the program's website.
