COLUMBIA — MU students receive free admission to all sports, except football and men's basketball, by showing a valid student ID at the gate.
If you want to attend football and men's basketball games, there are two ways to purchase tickets through the university:
- Buy a student season ticket combo.
- Buy football-only season tickets.
The football-only season tickets cost $165. The package includes tickets to all seven home football games.
The student season ticket combo costs $245 and is already on sale. Check your student email for updates about ticket availability.
The student season ticket combo includes tickets to all seven home football games, as well as the opportunity to attend men's basketball home games. You'll need to stay on top of your game to get tickets to the basketball game, though, even with the combo pass.
Getting tickets for basketball games requires trips to the ticket office on specified pick-up dates throughout the season. These dates are announced by the university in mid-October. Each pick-up date includes just a select number of games, and only about 4,000 tickets are given away at each pick-up date. Students can typically expect to receive tickets for the next one to eight games of the season at each pick-up date.
The reason for this is the size of Mizzou Arena, which limits the number of student seats. So, if there is a game you know you want to see, or if you know you want to see every game, make sure you know the pick-up dates and get to the ticket office early. The ticket office opens at 8 a.m.
Also remember, not everyone who buys tickets goes to every games. It's often easy — and cheap — to buy tickets from another student or find them on Facebook or craigslist.org or another site for a specific game.
If you know you do not want to go to all the games or you don't have the money to buy a ticket package, this may be your best option.
