Sarah “Juanita” Kidwell, of Columbia, July 22, 1935 — July 2, 2012

COLUMBIA — Sarah “Juanita” Kidwell, 77, passed away July 2, 2013 in Columbia, MO.

Juanita was born July 22, 1935 in Columbia, MO to William Henry and Mary Craig Fite. She was a graduate of Hickman High School. Juanita retired after 30 years of employment with Atkins, where she worked as a secretary. She also was awarded a certificate of appreciation for her 20 years of volunteerism with the VA hospital. Juanita married Donald “Duke” Kidwell August 28, 1959, he preceded her in death. She enjoyed going to garage sales, playing cards, and drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes with friends.

In addition to her husband, Juanita was preceded in death by her mother and father, three sisters, Joan Kennedy, Betty Lou Baker, and Dottie Sue Fite, one brother, Dickie Ray Fite.

Juanita is survived by one daughter, Brenda Kidwell, one granddaughter, Andi Baker Glidewell (Nick), one great grandson, Maddox Glidewell, her best friend Tom Atkins, and numerous family and friends that were always family to her.

There will be a visitation from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Friday July 5, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 4:00pm and interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are requested to go to Central MO Humane Society, Cancer Research Center, or Boone County Family Resources.
