Tiger Trolley Tours to host evening events with local artist Paul Jackson

Friday, July 5, 2013 | 6:58 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — Tiger Trolley Tours will host two tours with Columbia artist Paul Jackson to view his exhibit, "The Adventurous Spirit," at the Boone County Historical Society's Montminy Art Gallery on Wednesday and again on July 17.

On the trolley ride to the gallery, Jackson will share his experiences and influences as a watercolor artist, according to a release from Tiger Trolley. Attendees will also hear Jackson talk about his paintings at the exhibit.

"It’s a unique opportunity for people to receive a personally guided tour from the artist and get insight on his work," said Cindy Mustard, Tiger Trolley Tours co-owner.

Mustard said she and fellow owner Jolene Schulz have known Jackson for a long time and thought a trolley tour would be a fun way to showcase him as a local artist.  Mustard said she expects that the event will draw mostly adults but says it is family-friendly.

The first trolley tour will pick up riders at 5:30 p.m. at Coley’s Restaurant, 15 S. Sixth St. The second trolley tour will pick up riders at 5:30 p.m. in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce parking lot, 300 S. Providence Road.

Both tours will last two hours.

The event costs $30 per person and includes the trolley ride, admission to the gallery, refreshments and a guided tour with Jackson. More information can be found by calling Tiger Trolley at (573) 567-0850 or by email at tigertrolleytours@gmail.com
