Franklin Leroy Fenton, Nov. 3, 1936 — July 7, 2013

Franklin Leroy Fenton, 76, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at his home in Mountain Grove, MO.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Parker Funeral Service, Columbia, MO. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, MO.

Frank was born November 3, 1936, to Roy and Maurine (Whitesides) Fenton in Columbia, MO.

On August 30, 1958, he and Lois Jean Trumbo were joined in marriage at Bethany Baptist Church, Columbia, MO. They built their home, raising two children near Hallsville, MO.

He gave his heart to Jesus as a young father and was a Baptist.

Mr. Fenton was employed 30 years with the local telephone company and retired at 47 years old. Later he worked at Missouri University Tel-Com.

He enjoyed playing baseball, woodworking, camping, cooking, and helping other people.

Survivors include: wife, Jean of the home; daughter, Lori Fenton of Topeka, KS; son, Matthew Fenton of Columbia, MO; sister, June Kingery (Gene) of Columbia, MO; sisters-in-law, Wreatha Etheridge, Farmington, AR and Sue Fenton, Columbia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, J. M. Fenton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to charity of choice.
