Patricia Lorene Geren was quick-witted, loving

COLUMBIA — Patricia Lorene (Farrell) Geren of Columbia died Monday, July 8, 2013. She was 86.

She was born in Wyandotte, Mich., to Cecil and Ester (Beardsley) Farrell on Aug. 10, 1926.

She married Arthur Samuel Geren on Oct. 12, 1946, in Wyandotte. They lived in Des Plains, Ill., for 28 years, where she worked as an office manager and computer operator for McWilliams Electric Co.

Upon retirement in 1989, she and her husband moved to the Lenoir Community in Columbia.

Family and friends remember Mrs. Geren as a loving and quick-witted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Geren is survived by her husband Arthur Geren; her son-in-law David Schlesselman of St. Peters; her grandchildren, Jennifer Jacklin and her husband, Rob, of Ballwin, Denise Schlesselman of Warrenton, and Randall Schlesselman and his wife, Dawn, of Arnold; and seven great-grandchildren.

A son, William Geren, and a daughter, Gaye Schlesselman, died earlier.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Thursday at Campus Lutheran Church, 304 S. College Ave. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, also at the Campus Lutheran Church. Burial will be Monday at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Mich.
