COLUMBIA — The Columbia Police SWAT team served a warrant near Ash and Bryant streets Wednesday evening in relation to an ongoing homicide investigation, according to a police news release.

Columbia Police spokesman Joe Bernhard said Thursday morning there was another search warrant executed Wednesday night at Boyd Lane, but he would not say whether the two searches were connected. He said the Boyd Lane warrant was related to an ongoing investigation and would not say if the investigation was a homicide.

Boyd Lane is near McKee Park in northeast Columbia where Tre'Veon Marshall, 17, was fatally shot shortly before midnight July 14. The investigation into his death continues. Police would not provide details into what homicide either of the warrants were in connection to.

Supervising editor is John Schneller.
