Marie McClard, 87, helped found House of Brokers

COLUMBIA — Marie McClard, 87, of Columbia died Thursday, July 25, 2013, with her daughter and son by her side.

Mrs. McClard was born on Sept. 29, 1925, to Pete and Helen Falk. She grew up in Bonne Terre, Mo.

She married Sid McClard on Aug. 19, 1945. In 1951, the couple moved to Columbia, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Mrs. McClard was a long time member of King's Daughters and one of the founding real estate brokers of House of Brokers.

She is survived by her husband, Sid McClard of Columbia; her daughter, Sydney McClard of Columbia, and a son, Dan McClard, and his wife, Denise, of Centennial, Colo.; and six granddaughters, Christina, Annie, Helen, Katherine, Rosie and Audrey.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Our Lady of Lourdes, 903 Bernadette Drive and Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 West.
