Cool morning weather sets new record low

COLUMBIA — Temperatures dipped into the low 50s Sunday morning, setting a new record low of 52 degrees for July 28.

The previous record, 56 degrees, was set in 2005, according to the National Weather Service.

Unseasonably cool weather is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with highs between the mid-70s and low-80s and lows continuing to dip well into the 60s, according to weather service forecasts.
