Gerald Leon Stubbs, Nov. 7, 1922 — July 27, 2013

Gerald Leon Stubbs, 90, of Columbia, MO, passed away July 27, 2013.

He grew up in Camden Point, MO. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. Gerald and his wife, Mary, lived in Independence, MO for many years before moving to Columbia in 1989. He was a member of the Olivet Christian Church. He had been living in the veteran home in Mexico, MO since March 2011.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Mary Holybee Stubbs, his parents, Charles and Mary Stubbs, and one brother, Robert Stubbs.

He is survived by one daughter Melinda Marsh (John Marsh), three grandchildren, Andrew Marsh (Valerie Marsh), Margaret Marsh, Caroline Marsh, one great-granddaughter Sophia Marsh, one brother-in-law, Tom Cockrill, one sister-in-law, Ruby Shackelford, three nieces, Leonna Cockrill, Brenda Stubbs Akers, and Cathy Stubbs, and two nephews, Dennis Norris and Tom Stubbs.

Visitation for Gerald will be held Thursday August 1, 2013 at Memorial Funeral home from 2:00PM to 3:00PM, the Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3:00PM Thursday August 1, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home.
