COLUMBIA — It's a day dedicated to the fans.
Missouri's 11th annual Football Fan Day will be held Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Admission is free and open to all; the gates will open at 3:45 p.m.
The event provides an opportunity for fans to go onto the turf at Faurot Field and meet their favorite Tigers. Players and coaches will be signing autographs until 5:15 p.m., but each fan is allowed to get signatures on just one item. Posters with the Fall 2013 football schedule will also be provided for free.
Players and coaches have been assigned to six different tents that will be placed along both sidelines. There will also be a tent for people to purchase season tickets for the upcoming season, a tent for fans to cool off and a tent for MU's beloved mascot, Truman.
Water will be provided, but attendees are also encouraged to bring their own water to stay hydrated in the heat. No other outside food or beverages will be allowed.
The construction at Memorial Stadium is still in progress, and the entrance for the event is different than in years past. Football team spokesman Patrick Crawford said he would not comment on construction progress until next week.
Fans will be able to enter at Gate 3W and at the Southwest field level gate. Free parking will be available in Founders lot as well as lots A, C, D and G. The entrance for Lot G is located on Champions Drive.
