Each week, the Missourian highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives. For a complete list of Show Me the Records, go to

The records: The Columbia Board of Realtors provides monthly statistics for sales of existing and newly constructed single-family homes. These statistics include the number of houses sold, selling price, days on the market, Boone County's absorption rate and the pending, active and new market listings.

Why you'd want them: Homeowners, renters and investors in Boone County can stay informed about real estate trends.

Where you get the records: Go to and click on the "Stats" tab. On the following page, select a month on the left side and scroll down to view the statistics provided by the Columbia Board of Realtors.

How much will it cost: The information is free.
