COLUMBIA — A bathroom pavilion at a golf course on the 1200 block of Willowcreek Lane in south Columbia caught fire early Monday morning. There were no injuries.

The Columbia Fire Department responded to the fire at about 3 a.m. and found the 30-by-30-foot building burning, according to a news release from the Fire Department. The building was near the Country Club of Missouri's 14th tee box.

Because the fire was not close to a roadway, the firefighters had to extend hose lines about 400 feet. The distance was a challenge to the firefighters at first, but Capt. John Metz said that once the attack lines were adjusted, the fire was brought under control in about five minutes.

Officials do not yet know what caused the fire. Damage is estimated at $12,000.
