COLUMBIA — As another school year begins, Columbia College is seeing growth in its total number of students.

A total of 31,302 students enrolled for the 2013-2014 school year, up from last year's total number, which was just more than 30,000, said Jeff Branscom, the school's public relations coordinator.

The total enrollment number reflects all system-wide students in the day, evening and online programs, Branscom said.

"The day program of 929 students this year has seen a little flat growth from the 923 day program students enrolled last year," he said.

Branscom said the college's night program enrollment of 1,206 students this year is down from 1,414 last year.

The college also saw an increase in the number of students living in residence halls, with 362 students moving in this year compared to last year's 330, he said.

Supervising editor is Margaux Henquinet.
