COLUMBIA — Police are investigating a possible sexual assault that was reported early Tuesday morning.

Officers Tuesday were dispatched to University Hospital at 4:22 a.m. and interviewed the victim.

Columbia Police Department Officer Latisha Stroer said the female victim, 18, felt she had been drugged while drinking and thought she may have been assaulted. The victim was at a fraternity house in the 800 block of South Providence Road, but she could not provide any suspect information.

On Wednesday afternoon, a clery release was sent out to MU students and faculty to inform them of the reported incident.

MU police said they sent the release to inform the community of crimes occurring near campus.
