Police respond to reports of shots fired at Douglass Park

COLUMBIA — No injuries have been reported after police officers were dispatched to Douglass Park on Wednesday evening in response to calls of shots fired.

Columbia Police Sgt. Joe Bernhard said officers were dispatched at 6:18 p.m. They arrived at 6:20 p.m. and didn't find anyone involved in a disturbance, he said.

Officers found bullet shell casing in the park's parking lot, Bernhard said.

The incident is under investigation.
