Samuel Wayne Robertson, former deputy sheriff, loved to cycle

COLUMBIA — Samuel Wayne Robertson of Columbia died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at University Hospital. He was 58.

Mr. Robertson was born June 22, 1955, in Muskogee, Okla.

Mr. Robertson served as a deputy sheriff of Clay County for 18 years. He spent his free time cycling and listening to music. He had a fond kindness for others and loved his children dearly.

He is survived by his three children, Justin Robertson of Ashland, Sarah Robertson of Columbia, and Katelyn and her husband, Josh Teegarden, of Columbia; his brother, Don and his wife, Mary Robertson, of Olive Branch, Miss.; one niece, Kim; two nephews, Brian and Kevin; and the mother of his children, Brenda Snyder.

His parents, Helen and Herb White, died earlier.
