COLUMBIA — Dorothy Anne Valentine Hague was born in Boone County, January 21, 1931, to Andrew Clyde and Cora Alice (Peacher) Valentine and died August 23, 2013, in Columbia. She was the third and last child in that family: Anne is preceded in death by her grandson, Jon Andy; two brothers, Wilford died in childhood and Ralph L. Valentine passed in 1999. Anne attended local schools (Gillespie Rural school and Hickman High School) and trained in Kansas City with securing a degree in Nursing. Anne’s professional life took her to New Mexico, Louisiana and back to Columbia, most notably at Boone County Hospital and as a school nurse with Hallsville Public Schools.

Anne married George Mack Bennett on December 1, 1953, and continued her nursing career while Mr. Bennett worked primarily for petroleum companies. Anne and George had two children, Douglas Bennett and Kathy Bennett Deimerly, who survives her. Anne married Frank Hague of Boone County May 27, 1988, and lived in Millersburg; Mr. Hague died July 2, 2011. Anne loved her many friends, her work, helping people and family history, but her joy was her grandchildren. She was proud of her seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The visitation is from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday August 29, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2013, also at Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
