Columbia College women's soccer ties Kansas Wesleyan

COLUMBIA — Columbia College women's soccer tied Kansas Wesleyan University 1-1 Sunday.

The Cougars took the lead against the 11th ranked Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes midway through the first half on a Rylee Bruhn goal. Despite being outshot 4-2 in the half, the Cougars held on to the lead going into halftime.

The Coyotes tied the game early in the second half, and the game was forced into overtime.

The teams played the extra 20 minutes to a draw, though Kansas Wesleyan had many scoring opportunities.

Columbia College moves to 1-0-1 on the season.

The Cougars play their next game Monday against 23rd-ranked Baker University in Kansas. The game will start at 5 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kans.
