COLUMBIA — The Columbia City Council at its Tuesday meeting approved construction of two new sidewalks on Clark Lane.
The new sidewalks will cover two separate segments of Clark Lane. The east segment will stretch from Woodlands Spring Court to North Ballenger Lane, while the west segment will run from Paris Road to Eastwood Drive. They have a total estimated cost of $736,000.
On Aug. 13, the Columbia Disabilities Commission sent a letter to council members noting the lack of sidewalks along Clark Lane. The commission said it was a high priority project for the disabilities community.
At the Aug. 24 city budget work session, Third Ward Councilman Karl Skala and other council members pushed to make sure that GetAbout funding would include the Clark Lane projects, according to a previous Missourian article.
