COLUMBIA — Brian Adkison, a Columbia man accused of rape and kidnapping, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, in the Cleveland suburb of Westlake, Ohio.

Adkison, 23, put up a little bit of a struggle, said Capt. Guy Turner of the Westlake Police Department. Adkison is now in the Westlake City Jail.

Police had been searching for Adkison since he escaped from Caldwell County Jail on Aug. 10, according to an Associated Press report.

Westlake police tried to question him after he was found sleeping in a pickup truck around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, and he fled.

Adkison was wanted on charges including the rape and kidnap of his former girlfriend, an MU student.
