LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Vote 'No' for military strike in Syria

Friday, September 6, 2013 | 6:00 a.m. CDT

A plea to our senators and representatives of Congress:

Please do not vote for a military strike against Syria simply to make the point that poison gas is not acceptable. Killing people, however we do it, is horrible. A military strike, however brief, will count us as participants in their war and we will become a future target. Let's continue advocating peaceful negotiations. There are no winners in war.
