Missouri women's soccer loses to San Diego in overtime

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Missouri women's soccer team lost 2-1 to San Diego in its final game of the Texas A&M Tournament. 

Junior midfielder Mariah Butera got things started for the Toreros with a goal in the 35th minute assisted by senior forward Emily Dillon. 

The Tigers responded in the 64th minute, when sophomore forward Reagan Russell ripped a shot near the penalty spot into the upper netting. Redshirt sophomore midfielder Lauren Flynn picked up the assist. 

The stalemate continued until sophomore midfielder Caitlyn Kretzschmar won the game for San Diego in the last minute of overtime off of a service by sophomore goalkeeper Michelle Craft.

Missouri is scheduled to play next against Eastern Illinois at home at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
