COLUMBIA— The Southeastern Conference recognized Missouri freshmen cross country runners Kaitlyn Fischer and Dan Roe as SEC Freshmen of the Week on Tuesday.

The Missouri men's and women's cross country team traveled to Fayetteville, Ark., last weekend for the Arkansas Dual. Fischer placed seventh in the women's 4-kilometer race with a time of 14 minutes, 1 second, the best performance of any Missouri runner. Roe finished first among freshmen and 11th overall in the 6,600-meter race with a time of 20:37.2.

The next race for both Missouri teams is the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis on Sept. 28.
