Rock Bridge girls tennis remains undefeated with Quincy sweep

COLUMBIA— The Rock Bridge girls tennis team improved to 7-0 on the season Tuesday, sweeping Quincy High School 9-0 in singles and doubles competition. The Bruins won every match in straight sets in the dual at Quincy.

Junior Phoebe Boeschen defeated Sarah Boyd 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Seniors Sophie Farid and Allison Baker beat their opponents 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-0, respectively. The trio of sophomores in Tess Lovig, Hannah Pohl and Ronni Farid wrapped up the singles competition by winning all of their sets, giving up only six games between the six sets.

In doubles play, Boescher and Sophie Farid defeated Boyd and Delancy O'Donnell 8-1. Lovig and Pohl teamed up to defeat Alyssa Daly and Amy Dawson 8-0, and Baker and Ronni Farid finished off the night by beating Hope Rossmiller and Kimi Rose 8-2.

The Bruins return to action against Park Hill on Wednesday.
