William Christopher Boettcher enjoyed biking, golfing, sports

COLUMBIA — William Christopher "Chris" Boettcher died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the age of 45.

He was born on April 14, 1968, to Glenda Filbert and William Albert Boettcher.

He attended Mexico High School and graduated in 1986 from Rock Bridge High School. Mr. Boettcher attended MU, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He graduated from MU in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in consumer and family economics.

Mr. Boettcher worked in mortgage lending and liked to spend time at the Lake of the Ozarks with his friends and family. He lived in Columbia, where he also enjoyed biking and golfing, as well supporting the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers.

Mr. Boettcher is survived by his wife, Vanessa Boettcher of Columbia; his mother, Glenda Filbert of Columbia; and six stepsiblings, Lauacra Zher, Lisa Filbert Macon, Preston Filbert, Lydia Craft, Brian Filbert and Brent Filbert.

His father, William Albert Boettcher; his stepfather, Garvin Preston Filbert; and his brothers, Michael Dotson and Terry Dotson, died earlier.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Missouri United Methodist Church, 204 S. Ninth St.
