Southbound lane of U.S. 63 to be temporarily closed

Monday, September 16, 2013 | 2:43 p.m. CDT

COLUMBIA — One southbound lane of U.S. 63 will be closed in the evening starting Thursday, according to a Missouri Department of Transportation news release.

The 1,500-foot stretch of highway is one mile north of the Route H interchange in Columbia. It will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for pavement repairs.

The lane should be fully reopened by Sept. 26.

While the lane is closed, traffic control will help guide drivers around the roadwork, and MoDOT recommends that drivers consider using an alternate route.

Supervising editor is Edward Hart.
