Belinda Gay Hulen, age 53, of Columbia, Missouri passed away the afternoon of September 14th, 2013. Belinda was born on May 21st, 1960 in Columbia, Missouri to James and Barbara Freeman. Belinda was united in marriage to Kenneth Hulen on May 14th, 1983 at Wilkes Boulevard Methodist Church in Columbia, Missouri.
Belinda graduated from Columbia College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, Summa Cum Laude. She worked as an accountant at Boone County National Bank since 1990 and was involved in several charities. She worked for United Way, was involved in numerous charitable walks, and volunteered at the local food bank. She was a very intelligent woman who always stood out from the crowd. Belinda enjoyed attending concerts and dancing with her husband of 30 years. She strived to push her daughter, Jessica, towards success and instilled lifelong values in her. Belinda will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Belinda is survived by her husband, Kenneth Hulen, and daughter, Jessica; sister, Marsha Schafer; two brothers, Lance (Becky) Freeman and Tim (Karen) Freeman; and both of her parents, James and Barbara Freeman.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Friday, September 20th, 2013. Funeral service will commence at 11:00 am. Burial will immediately follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be left to support the family or to the donor’s charity of choice.
