COLUMBIA — The Cole County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday afternoon arrested a man suspected of committing a robbery in Columbia.

The man, Michael A. Green, is accused of robbing an acquaintance at gunpoint at the intersection of Green Meadows Road and Crescent Green Drive while they were driving to a movie theater Tuesday afternoon. The victim handed Green an unknown amount of money, according to a release from the Columbia Police Department.

After the robbery, Green drove away in a gray four-door car, according to the release. Columbia police responded to the robbery at 1:57 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers sent information to other law enforcement agencies in the hope of locating Green. The Cole County Sheriff's Department found him and brought him to the Columbia Police Department.

Green's bond has yet to be set. He was being held in the Boone County Jail onWednesday morning.
