13th annual Fire Factor event demonstrates fire safety for students

MU Residential Life, Student Life and the Columbia Fire Department hosted the 13th annual Fire Factor event on Wednesday to demonstrate fire safety. A replica dorm room was set on fire and destroyed in 90 seconds to demonstrate how dangerous a dorm room fire can be.

COLUMBIA — MU Residential Life, Student Life and the Columbia Fire Department hosted the 13th annual Fire Factor event on Wednesday to demonstrate fire safety in the residence halls.

A replica dorm room was set on fire and destroyed in 90 seconds to demonstrate how dangerous a dorm room fire can be. The event included a Fire Factor face-off in which  competitors had to complete a four-part obstacle course while wearing a firefighter's suit.
