COLUMBIA — David Rosenbaum has been named the new director of the University of Missouri Press, effective Nov. 1, MU Provost Brian Foster announced Friday morning.

Rosenbaum has served the American Heart Association as director of product development and project management since 2010.

The UM Press has had an interim director since October 2012. The University of Missouri System administration announced in 2012 that it was closing the press, without formal consultation with faculty. After public outcry, it reversed its decision less than three months later.

Rosenbaum was one of three finalists for the position announced in August. The other two were Clair Willcox, current associate director and editor-in-chief of the University of Missouri Press, and Leila Salisbury, director of the University Press of Mississippi.
