Rock Bridge softball earns 13th straight win

COLUMBIA — The Rock Bridge softball team wrapped up its first day at the Hickman Tournament Friday night with a dramatic 1-0 win over Blue Springs South.

The win – Rock Bridge's 13th straight – came in an international tiebreaker, where both teams are allowed to start with a runner at second base in their first at-bats of the tied inning.

Hannah Liebhart's hit to right field brought in Kelsey Knorr to secure the game for the Rock Bridge (18-3).

Bruins' pitcher Breanna Logan improved to 11-2 on the season by allowing no earned runs with two strikes and three hits.

Rock Bridge beat Fort Zumwalt South 11-0 in five innings earlier on Friday.

Conner Logsdon struck out eight while Taylor McDannold recorded two hits and four RBI's.

Rock Bridge will continue tournament play at 12:30 p.m.on Saturday at Cosmo Park's Antimi Fields against Seckman.
