Gerald "Jerry" Lehr, 71, of Columbia died Friday

COLUMBIA — Gerald “Jerry” Lehr of Columbia died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. He was 71.

Mr. Lehr was born May 22, 1942 in Gresham, Neb., to John and Lillian (Scherer) Lehr.

On June 17, 1978, he married Joan in Kansas City, and she died earlier.

Mr. Lehr is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Prince of Salem, Becky Loftus and her husband, Dale, of Ashland, Neb., and Tania Mantle and her husband, Aaron, of Columbia; step-children, Ron Meisenheimer and his fiancée, Lena, of Kansas City, Ken Meisenheimer and his wife, Tammy, of Lenexa, Kan., Pam Meisenheimer of Columbia and David Meisenheimer and his wife, Kellie, of Buckeye, Ariz.; one brother, Leroy Lehr and his wife, Marlys, of Seward, Neb.; an uncle, Darrell Scherer, and his wife, Iolene, of Gibbons, Minn.; 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W. A second visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. in Kansas City, with a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens.
