Columbia College volleyball splits matches in Illinois

The Columbia College volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday in Aurora, Ill.

The Cougars (10-4) started the day by sweeping Robert Morris (Ill.) University3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 34-32). The team notched 54 kills led by Paula Rosa's 14. Trinity Ojo added 13. Erin Pavlin and Jordan Reid each finished with 13 digs and Lydie van Deursen recorded 41 assists.

Columbia followed up that game by falling 3-2 to Trinity Christian College (20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-13, 9-15). Sarah Schwentker had 14 kills and Ojo followed with 11. Van Deursen led all players with 37 assists.

The Cougars will play Tuesday in Fulton for a triangular match featuring College of the Ozarks and William Woods. Games are set for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
