Ella C. Lambert, 99, passed away September 29, 2013, at Heritage Hall in Centralia, Missouri.

Ella was born May 7, 1914, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Frank N. Cole and Phoebe Willis.

Ella spent her professional career with the Columbia Public School system as a first-grade teacher. She obtained an associates degree in teaching from Iowa State Teacher’s College, which is now the University of Northern Iowa. Ella married Edward C. Lambert on May 30, 1936, and they shared 63 wonderful years together. She was interested in sewing, ceramics, and oil-based painting.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Lambert (Terry) of Arizona and Barbara Lambert Reichel (Norris) of Florida; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ella was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Lambert; her parents; four brothers; and a sister.

The visitation is from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edward C. Lambert Scholarship Fund, Missouri University School of Journalism.
